Christmas & New Year at the Old Mill

Well 2018 went fast! So, its that time to celebrate and Head Chef, Christopher Hutchinson and his kitchen team have been working hard to come up with some menu’s we hope suit all occasions.

Christmas Killearn
Our Festive Party Menu, priced at £22 for two courses & £28 for three courses, will be available throughout December. Its ideal for parties and larger groups. Groups of over 15 will need to provide a pre-order.

We tried out a tasting menu during the Lawless Village weekend this summer and it proved to be a success, so we are introducing a very special Christmas Tasting menu. Everyone on the table will need to dine from this menu and its priced at £45 per head. There will be a vegetarian version – just bear with us and it should be up on the website very soon.

The usual a la carte menu will still be available throughout the festivities, but we strongly advise booking even if it just for a quick lunch as we are likely to be busy.

Please note, we do also take deposits for groups of over 10 so just make 100% sure that everyone can make it before you book.

Christmas & New Year Opening Times

Christmas Eve – Restaurant until 9pm. Bar open until Late


Boxing Day – Restaurant open for lunch only. Bar open until 9pm

Hogmanay – Dinner served 5pm until 8pm in the restaurant. Plus Hogmanay 6 course tasting menu from 9pm in the yurt (limited places.)

New Year’s Day – Restaurant open for Lunch only.  Bar until 9pm

Christmas Cracker Policy
We have given it a lot of thought we cannot, in good conscience, continue to provide Christmas Crackers due to the amount of waste they produce. There will be a little Christmas treat on the table for you and your guests as a thank you from us (including a hat and a joke!). But the traditional cracker is no more. We hope you understand that we are really trying to do our bit to reduce our waste and that you will support us in this.
